Tape On Me.

The designer in me loves this.  Malleable measuring tape bracelet by Monserat De Luca.

(Shopbop)

Once upon a time MTV actually played music videos…and this music video was a visual game changer.  The End.

      A-Ha - Take On Me

As We Go Up We Go Down.

Mar 21st, 2013 Posted in Fashion/Music | No Comments »

Such a fantastic use of the classic up-down, zig-zag pattern.  2 piece set by Rhie.  In love with it all.

(Creatures Of Comfort)

Probably one of my top 3 favorite bands in the universe & probably one of my top 10 albums right here.  Hefty claim, I know.

Guided By Voices - As We Go Up, We Go Down

96 Tee-rs.

Mar 14th, 2013 Posted in Fashion/Music | No Comments »

Alas, the journey for the perfect black & white (and grey) tees never lets up.   One seasons silhouette, will always surpass the next & leave you with a messy, overflowing drawer that you curse at every time you open because you can’t find what your looking for.  These pseudo muscle sleeve, crew necks aren’t helping the cause.

(Zara)

Been on a super duper 60’s kick lately and this album has been no stranger in the line-up.

The Be-Dazzled.

Mar 12th, 2013 Posted in Fashion/Music | No Comments »

These studded, bedazzled, business of a sandal are blowing my mind right now.  At first glance they seem complicated & fussy…then shortly after the desire, obsession, & plotting to own sets in.  Oh, and of course they are Isabel Marant.  That woman can seriously design no wrong in my book.

(La Garconne)

Shoe-gazy goodness.  No pun intended (well…maybe).

      Crystal Stilts - The Dazzled

Under Cover Me.

Metallic color-blocked under pinnings by Xirena.  Best part is, that it can double as a swim suit.  Brilliant!

(Available at Steven Alan)

Man, how I love this band.  Bradford Cox has the voice of an angel.

      Deerhunter - Cover Me Slowy

I’m Sticking With You.

Feb 24th, 2013 Posted in Fashion/Music | No Comments »

Stick a patch or two (or ten) on it to showcase your inner rocker/girl-scout self.   Some serious patch inspiration going on here & I like it!

Sung by the only female (and drummer) in the band.  Loves.

Velvet Underground - I'm Sticking With You

Eye-let Love It.

Feb 18th, 2013 Posted in Fashion/Music | No Comments »

How could you not love these printed graphic eyelet tops by NO. 21?  I say, perfect with a pair of denim cut-offs for your latest tropical jaunt, or for simple backyard anti-social (yet social) gatherings with your lady friends.

(Matches)

Warning: This song is catchier than the flu bug this January past.  You may catch yourself singing it when least expected and break out into uncontrollable dance movements.

Icona Pop - I Love It (feat. Charli XCX)

Tall-y Ho!

Feb 11th, 2013 Posted in Fashion/Music | No Comments »

These are fantastic! If you’re going to wear a flat-form sandal, might as well make it count right?

(Barneys)

Just one of many great jams by The Clean.

I Would Die 4 U.

Feb 7th, 2013 Posted in Fashion/Music | No Comments »

I recently paid a visit to the Clare Vivier store in Silverlake, and just about died when I saw these gorgeous backgammon sets.  Now…I’m a sucker for kitsch, especially when done in a ‘signature’ way.  This leather wrap detail and contrast zipper tape pouch to hold the chips & die.  These sets are just 2 good!

I think song title sparked the forgoing of words for numbers & single letters in place of words.
